The French football referee, Stephanie Frappart is set to make history in the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup, becoming the female referee to lead a match in the Men's FIFA World Cup. She will take charge of the game between Germany and Costa Rica. Also, This will be the first time in history that there will be an all-female refereeing team in a match.
Neuza Back and Karen Diaz Medina will assist Stephanie in the match. She was the first female referee to officiate a major men's European game in the 2019 UEFA Super Cup. Also, Frappart officiated a men's World Cup qualifier in March 2021, a men's Champions League game in 2020 and multiple Ligue 1 matches.
