#FBF I owe the discovery of slap hitting to this guy! My Dad aka #PoppaWatley was the ultimate coach, because after figuring I was in LOVE with softball he was the one who knew that he had to let me go and be coached by others who could take my game to the next level. He went out in the trenches to find the: -Best travel ball organizations -Best private pitching and hitting coaches -Weird hitting technique called slap hitting ?? He secretly knew to pull the plug on my not so great pitching dreams. He wasn’t exactly a dream killer because he knew something better was suited for ME. Either that or he was tired of me coming home after every game crying after giving up hits & Homeruns (yea pitching wasn’t for me)?? ?? When he came home one day and said “we are trying out for a new travel ball team and oh the coach is going to teach you how to slap hit”, I just said ok because I just wanted to play?????? ?? I’m forever grateful for my Dad who went out and took a chance on me learning this beautiful skill of “slapping”. It forever was a #GameChanger in my softball career and can’t imagine continuing to play without having converted to the left side. Check out my latest #tashatips that is sponsored by @demarinifp that shows some traits that my Dad saw and traits that can help you in deciding if you should convert your athlete to a slap hitter!
