Mexican National Football Team represents Mexico in the international football competitions and is handled by Mexican Football Federation. Mexico is the most successful country among the CONCACAF nations that include North and Central America, and the Caribbean. It has played the 16 editions of the FIFA world cup and has qualified in every since 1994. It has also passed the group stage consecutively in last six FIFA world cup along with Germany and Brazil.

Mexico’s best ever achievement in the World cup is reaching the quarterfinals in 1970 and 1786 World Cup. It also regularly takes part in Copa America since 1993 and has finished as a runner-up in two editions. Mexico currently ranks 14 in the FIFA World rankings and the best ever ranking is 4th on two occasions. The lowest ranking is 40th in 2015.
Claudio Suárez is the most capped player in the history with 177 appearances followed by Pável Pardo and Gerardo Torrado. Javier Hernández is the highest scorer of the team having scored 49 goals so far. The head coach of the team is Juan Carlos Osorio and Andrés Guardado is the current captain.

Mexico qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2018 being the winner of the CONCACAF confederations qualification.
