A Sri Lankan cricketer, playing in all forms, Balapuwaduge Kusal Gimhan Mendis is well recognized as Kusal Mendis. The Right-handed, Right-arm leg spin, Mendis has played only 16-first-class games prior to playing for the national side since 2015.

Kusal Mendis' Domestic Career

Mendis has captained the national youth and the Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa teams in his early years. From 2015-2017, Mendis played for a first-class cricket team, Bloomfield Cricket, and Athletic Club.

In 2017, he signed for the Colombo Cricket Club.

Kusal Mendis' International Career

Mendis captained his national team for the 2014 ICC u-19 Cricket World Cup. On 22nd October 2015, Mendis made his test debut against West Indies, scoring 13 runs in the first innings and 39 runs in second innings. Further, he was called up by his national side for the tour of England.

On 16th June 2016, Mendis made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Ireland, where he recorded fifty ODI maiden.

On 5th July 2016, Mendis made his Twenty20 International (T20l) debut, playing against England.

On 31st January 2018, he represented national team in ODI against Ireland.

His last T20l was against 16th March 2018, against Bangladesh.
