Jaromir Jagr is a Czech Republican ice hockey player who currently plays as a right winger for HC Kladno, a Czech professional ice hockey team. He has also played for numerous NHL clubs including Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins, New Jersey Devils, Florida Panthers, and the Flames, and has served as the captain of Penguins and the Rangers.

Jaromir was born on February 15, 1972, in Kladno, the Czech Republic to father Jaromir Jagr and mother Anna Jagrova. He was raised in his birthplace along with his sister Jitka Kallová. Currently, he is 46 years old and his birth sign is Aquarius.

Jagr holds the Czech nationality and belongs to white ethnicity. When he was three years old, he started skating and immediately showed his abilities. When he was 15 years old, he began playing at the highest level of competition in Czechoslovakia for HC Kladno. After a couple of years, he became the youngest member of the Czechoslovak national team.

Pittsburgh Penguins

Jaromir signed a contract with Pittsburgh Penguins in the year 1990, through the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. During his tenure with this team, he was only the player after Mario Lemieux, to score 1,000 points in a Penguins sweater.

Washington Capitals

After that, Jaromir made a contract with the Washington Capitals for $77 million over seven years, which was the largest contract ever in NHL history, having an average annual salary of $11 million. During the 2002–03, Eastern Conference, Washington managed to finish sixth overall, however, it was defeated by Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round of the 2003 playoffs despite winning the series' first two games.

New York Rangers

After Washington Capitals, Jaromir was traded to New York Rangers in the place of Anson Carter and made an agreement of $4 million salaries per year.

While playing for New York, he scored his fourth goal of the 2007–08 season against New Jersey, at the Prudential Center in Newark, making him the first player to score a goal in 53 different NHL arenas. Jaromir broke the record of Mark Messier to be a player with the second-highest career points only behind Wayne Gretzky.

Calgary Flames

Recently, Jaromir made a one-year contract with Calgary Flames and he would play until he became 50 years old. On 9 November 2017, he scored his first goal from the side of Flame and got 2 points against the Detroit Red Wings in a 6–3 win.

Jaromir Jagr's International Career

Jaromir has represented his country several times in the world championship. In 1994, he along with Martin Straka arrived in the 1994 World Championships after Pittsburgh's elimination from the Stanley Cup playoffs.

As he was the most popular in the NHL, Czech fans' expectations were high from him. However, before the team could integrate Jaromir into the team, the Czechs lost their quarterfinal game and were eliminated from the tournament. He was also hurt in several other games.

Later he joined the team for the 2015 IIHF World Championship in Prague and Ostrava, making the team's roster.

While playing he scored a goal for his team which resulted in a 6–5 loss to Sweden, and he became the oldest player to score a goal at the World Championship. During the Czech Republic's quarterfinal game against Finland, he scored one assist and two goals, together with the game-winning goal. After the end of the tournament, he was named the most Most Valuable of the tournament.
