J.B. Holmes was born John Bradley "J.B." Holmes on April 26, 1982, in Campbellsville, Kentucky. He is the son of Lisa Holmes and her husband, Maurice Holmes. Career

John played amateur golf while attending the University of Kentucky and won SEC Title and represented the United States in the 2005 Walker Cup. Holmes turned professional in 2005 and made his PGA debut in 2006 at the Sony Open in Hawaii. He won the FBR Open in his rookie year. After having a mild season in 2007, John won the FBR Open for the second Tour win of his career.

In 2011, The American player missed most of the season due to Brain Surgery. Holmes had to wait until 2014 to win his third PGA title at the Wells Fargo Championship. The following season, He finished second in the World Golf Championship and won the Shell Houston Open. In 2019, Holmes won his last PGA title at the Genesis Open by one stroke against Justin Thomas. In 2021, John finished T36 in the Travelers championship
