Frank Vatrano was born on March 14, 1994, in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, the United States to parents Gregory Vatrano and Clara Vatrano. As per his nationality, he is American and belongs to the White ethnic group.
Frank Vatrano joined the Cathedral High School but was later transferred to Pioneer High School and played for them. After completing high school, he attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from where he played ice hockey.

Frank made his NHL debut from Boston Bruins on November 7, 2015, and scored his first goal against Montreal. In addition to this, his first hat trick was against Pittsburgh Penguins.
During his time with Boston in 2016, he suffered an injury resulting in the torn off his ligaments after which he missed his training season in the Bruins training camp.
