1. Fourth Substitution

Usually, the fans and probably the coaches have wished for one more substitution in a football match rather than just three. Especially if there's an injury after the three substitutions are over or the match goes into extra-time.

The wish will be fulfilled at this year's World Cup. It comes with a rider, though the substitution will only be allowed during extra-time.

2. No visa to travel to Russia for the FIFA World Cup 2018

You don't have a Visa to travel to Russia, don't worry! You do not need a visa to enter Russia during the tournament. There will be a Fan-ID, the special permit available to holders of World Cup tickets. The Fan-ID will act as an entry and exit visa to and from Russia.

3. The FIFA World Cup 2018 will cost $12 billion

Hosting a World Cup is costly business, The FIFA World Cup 2018 will cost Russia almost $12 billion. The estimated cost rose by $600 million last year. The government will allocate $6.7 billion, while $1.5 billion will come from regional governments and $3.4 billion from private and state-run companies.

4. World Cup debut at 45

Egyptian goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary is currently 45 years of age. Having played and captained in all the qualifying matches for Egypt, if he makes the final squad for Russia 2018, El-Hadary will become the oldest person to feature in a World Cup. After all, age is just a number.

5. Prize money for the participants

USD 400 million would be shared between the participants at the 2018 World Cup in the form of prize money out of which each team will receive $8 million for being qualified. The team progressing from the group stage will get an extra $4m. The winners of the FIFA World Cup will be paid $38m and the runners-up will be paid $28m.
