Drew Pomeranz was born on November 22, 1988, in Collierville, Tennessee to father Mike Pomeranz but the name of his mother is not in the media yet. He is American by nationality and belongs to the white ethnic group.

Drew Pomeranz Started His Professional Career with Cleveland Indians

He was drafted in the first round of the 2010 MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians. On August 16, 2010, right before the deadline, he signed with the Indians; his contract, which included a signing bonus of $2.65 million, was the biggest bonus given to the pitcher in the draft that year.

Pomeranz, Alex White, Joe Gardner, and Matt McBride were traded for Ubaldo Jiménez on July 31, 2011, to the Colorado Rockies. Further, he made his MLB debut on September 11, 2011.

Pomeranz and minor league pitcher Chris Jensen were traded for pitcher Brett Anderson at the Oakland Athletics on December 10, 2013.
