Sunderland faced an own goal while presenting the statement confirming that the midfielder is to face internal disciplinary process.
The relegated Premier League side Sunderland were recently defeated by 5-0 against Celtic in a friendly match. Following the loss, Sunderland midfielder was filmed criticizing his teammates in the bar.
As a result, Sunderland published a statement confirming that they have started an internal disciplinary process against Darron Gibson.
The statement read:
""Darren Gibson has not conducted himself in a manner befitting Sunderland Football Club. As a consequence, we will initiate our internal disciplinary process to deal with the matter. Darron has apologized this morning"".
After Celtic thrashed Sunderland by 5-0 in a friendly match, Darron was filmed in a hotel bar with some supporters. In the video posted by some fans, he was found calling the club ‘shit’.
The former Manchester United midfielder even said that some of his teammates do not even care about the club, however, revealed that he is committed to the club.
