Toni developed an interest in football at six years after watching her cousin on the field and has been playing football ever since. The Detroit native went to Redford Union High School in Redford, Michigan, where she played football for her high school team.

Two years later, Harris moved to California to play free safety at East Los Angeles College. She played there for two years under the direction of Head Coach Bobby Godinez. Furthermore, Toni became the first woman to ever play for East Los Angeles College. After that, she received six offers to play football at four-year universities, including a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics scholarship to play football at Bethany College in Kansas.

Despite receiving offers from multiple teams, Toni chose to be at Central Methodist University. Later, she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. In August 2021, she attended the University of Southern California and graduated with a Master's degree of Science in Criminal Justice in December 2022.

Apart from her football career, Harris also has engaged in another field. She wanted to become the first female football player to win Miss California. Following that dream, Harris competed in the Miss California USA Pageant in 2021. She represented the city of Norwalk as Miss Norwalk USA.
