Youri Tielemans is a Belgian footballer who currently plays for Belgium National Team and Premier League club, Leicester City as a midfielder. The 25 years old footballer made his debut with Anderlecht in 2013 and was also a member of the National team that won the bronze medal in the FIFA World Cup 2018.

Tielemans is Belgian Player of the Year for 2016-17 and was also chosen as the best young player in 2013-14 and 2014-15. He is also the youngest Belgian to play in the UEFA Champions League.

Club Career

Anderlecht

Youri Tielemans started playing football at the age of five joining Anderlecht in 2002. He was then promoted to the senior team of Anderlecht in 2013 where he signed his first professional contract at the age of 16.

His first senior match came against Lokeren of the Belgian Pro League. Along with his club, he spent four seasons in the Belgian Pro League. He became the youngest Belgian to play in the UEFA Champions League.

Youri Tielemans is a member of the team that won the Belgian Pro League (2013-14, 2016-17) and the Belgian Super Cup (2013,2014). He has scored 26 games in the 139 appearances for the team.

Monaco

Tielemans then signed a five-year contract with Monaco with the transfer fee of £22.50million in 2017 and made his debut on July 29 in the Trophee des Champions at the Grand Stade de Tanger.

Later, his first Ligue 1 match came against FC Toulouse, replacing Radamel Falcao. He then made his UEFA club competition debut against RB Leipzig, UEFA Champions League. So far, he has played in 12 games for the team.

International Career

Tielemans has represented his national team in Belgium U-15, U-16, and U-21. He has scored 2 and played 4 games for U-15, played in 10 games for U-16 and 14 for U-21.

After four years in a junior team, Tielemans was called up to his senior squad in 2016 against Wales. His first senior international match came on November 9, 2016, against the Netherlands, in a friendly match as a backup player for Steven Defour. His current teammates are Jan Vertonghen, Koen Casteels, and Leander Dendoncker.
