Wil Trapp Family and Childhood

Wil Trap was born as William Alexander "Wil" Trapp on 15 January 1993 at Gahanna, Ohio, the United States which ultimately makes him bear American nationality. However, his grandfather emigrated from Greece. He was born to the American couple John and Liz Trapp along with an elder brother, Christian and a sister, Julia. He was ambitious and hardworking since his childhood days.

Wil did his schooling at Lincoln High School: Gahanna Jefferson Public School. He won the title of NSCAA National High School Player of the year (2010) during his high school soccer career. Later, he joined the University of Akron and graduated with a degree majoring in biology. He played as a member of Akron Zips in the University.

Wil Trapp's Professional Career

Wil Trapp turned professional in 2012 where he was signed by Columbus Crew SC of Major League Soccer. His first game as a professional was in 2013 against Portland Timbers at Columbus Crew Stadium. The player with the jersey no. 20 plays as the midfielder of the club.

He has also remained one the player member representing United States U18 team in 2011. He made his debut for the senior national team on January 28, 2015, in a 3–2 friendly defeat in Chile. He came as a substitute for Fabian Johnson. He is honored with various awards and achievements such as Mid-American Conference Men’s Soccer Newcomer of the Year (2011), U.S. Soccer Young Male Athlete of the Year (2013), and he has also featured in one of the “24 under 24” presented by Adidas (2014).
