Uruguay National Team represents the Uruguayan national football team in several international tournaments and is controlled by the Uruguayan Football Association. Their home ground is Estadio Centenario, Montevideo stadium.
Uraguay has represented in 13 World Cups so far and their first one was in 1930. The team has won the World Cup twice including the first World Cup in 1930 as hosts, defeating Argentina 4–2 in the final. They won their second title in 1950, defeating host Brazil 2–1 in the final match. They have won the Copa América 15 times, being the team that has won the tournament on most occasions.
Uruguay's current FIFA ranking is recorded to be 21st and their highest ever ranking is 2nd in July 2011. Their lowest ever FIFA ranking is 55th in 1998. The team is managed by the head coach Óscar Tabárez and the captain of the team is Diego Godin. The top scorer for the Uruguayan national team is the Barcelona's star forward Luis Suarez and the player winning most caps is Maxi Pereira with a total of 124 caps and he is followed by their current captain Diego Godin with 113 caps.
