He returned to Philadelphia Eagles training camp in 2006 and was removed from the team before the beginning of regular season.

Timmy Chang would then move to Hamilton Tiger-Cats a CFL football team who had gained the negotiating rights to Chang due to the trade of Edmonton Eskimos. He was released a year later by the team on August 29, 2008. He was signed by Winnipeg Blue Bombers the following day of his release. He retired from professional play in 2009.
Chang joined the staff of June Jones, the head coach of Southern Methodist University, as a graduate assistant in May 2012. He was later assigned as the offensive coordinator for Jackson State in 2014.
