Together with her ice dance partner, Scott Moir she has won various titles including Olympic champion, World champion, Continents champion, Grand Prix Final champion, Canadian National Champion, and the World Junior champion.

Scott Moir and Virtue are the only ice dance team that can do upbeat routines as well they can dramatic and gentle ones. On September 19, 2018, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir announced that will be performing at Prospera Place on behalf of Thank You Canada Tour this fall. They will also be accompanied by other Canadian skating superstars such as Kaetlyn Osmond, Elvis Stojko, and Patrick Chan.

Additionally, she grew up with his three siblings: two brothers named Kevin Virtue and Casey Virtue and a sister named Jordan Virtue. Regarding her nationality, Virtue is Canadian and belongs to white ethnicity.

Professional Career

Tessa Virtue was passionate about world skating since her childhood years. She enrolled at Holy Names High School in Windsor, Ontario, and studied psychology at the University of Windsor. Virtue gained her degree at the University of Western Ontario.

She began her skating career in 1997 along with his partner, Scott Moir. Following this, Virtue has been honored with the bronze medal at the 2002 Canadian Championships.

In the same year, the duo claimed the 7th position at the 2003 Canadian Championships in the junior division. Later, they decided to transfer to Canton, Michigan and started working along with Marina Zueva and Igor Shpilband at the Arctic Edge Ice Arena.

The couple made their ISU Junior Grand Pix debut during the 2003-004 ISU Junior Grand Pix. They finished the tournament in 4th position.

The pair then won the Canadian Junior title in 2004, became Canada’s top ice dance couple in 2007, and awarded a silver medal at the 2008 World Championships.

The duo won held the third position at World Championships and named the first ice dance team to receive a 10.0 for a program component score with the new ISU Judging System. In 2010, Virtue and Moir made history as became the first ice dancers from North America to win an Olympic gold medal.

Virtue and his partner, Moir were the first ice dancers to win the Olympic gold on home ice and the first ice dancers to win gold in their Olympic debut and youngest pair ever to win an Olympic title as well.

She and Moir were assigned to the 2010 Skate Canada International for the 2010-11 Grand Prix and 2010 Trophee Eric Bompard as well. Following they have been honored with 2010 and 2012 World Championship and silver in 2011 and 2013. They also won Olympic silver in 2014.

After a brilliant or impressive performance, they won the 2017 World Champions and 2018 Olympic champions.

Later, they are described as the most decorated Canadian ice dance team of all time and the most decorated Olympic figure skaters of all time. 

In December 2017, they won Canadian Olympic athletes of the year by CBC.
