Swden announces 23-man provisional squad for the FIFA World Cup Soccer

For the FIFA World Cup 2018 that is to be held at Russia, the Sweden national team has announced their provisional squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup at the May 2018.

On November 13, 2017, Sweden successfully qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup at Russia after a goalless draw with Italy at the San Siro during the second leg of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Sweden will be entering into the tournament as an underdog. They are placed with 2014 FIFA World Cup Champions, Germany alongside North American team, Mexico, Asian team South Korea.

Sweden is in Group F alongside above-mentioned teams and Group F is expected to be a tough one in all the groups.

They are entering their 12 the finals at the FIFA World Cup tournament.S Sweden made its appearance at the FIFA World Cup at the 1934 World Cup which was held at Italy.

Their best performances at the World Cup when they finished as the runner-up to the eventual champions Brazil.

The 1958 FIFA World Cup tournament was held in their own nation, Sweden and they finished at the third place at the  1950 FIFA World Cup at Brazil by beating Spain as well as at the 1994 FIFA World Cup by beating Bulgaria.

The Swedish squad will be without their legendary Talisman, Zlatan Ibrahimovic who announced his retirement from playing for Sweden on 21 June 2016 after  Euro 2016.

The team is managed by Swedish coach, Janne Anderson and will be hoping that Sweden will perform well at the tournament.

Sweden will play their first match against on 18 June 2018 against South Korea and will be expecting well to perform remarkably at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.
