Ryan Broekhoff attended The Peninsula School in Melbourne, Victoria where he played for his high school basketball team. After completing high school, Ryan enrolled at Valparaiso and played there.

Broekhoff, a 6'7 " swingman from Frankston, Victoria, appeared at the prestigious Australian Sports Institute, where he gained the attention of Chris Sparks, an assistant coach at Valparaiso University.

Ryan, therefore, opted for Valparaiso in Valparaiso, Indiana. After playing a supporting role during his freshman season (2009–10), he entered the starting lineup as a sophomore with 10.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

As a junior in 2011-12, Ryan became one of the Horizon League's top players. He averaged 14.8 points, 8.6 rebounds (first in the Horizon League) and 2.3 assists per game, leading the Crusaders to the regular season title of the conference and the National Invitation Tournament.

At the end of the season, he was named the Horizon League Player of the Year and the Associated Press made an honorable mention of All-American. In the final season of Rayan in Valparaiso, he averaged a high college career of 15.7 points per game and averaged 7.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

Ryan Broekhoff Professional Career 

Ryan went undrafted in NBA draft, 2013. He signed a one-year agreement with Besiktas Integral Forex from Turkey on the option of a second On 5 August 2013. Ryan re-signed his contract with Besiktas in the summer of 2014.

In July 2015, he joined the Denver Nuggets for the 2015 NBA Summer League and later traveled with Besiktas on 24 August 2015.

Ryan signed a three-year agreement with the VTB United League's PBC Lokomotiv Kuban on 6 September 2015 and he signed a two-year contract with Dallas Mavericks On 6 September 2015. On 17 October 2018, Ryan made his NBA debut with 3 points in four minutes at a loss of 100–121 against the Phoenix Suns.

International Career

Ryan participated in both the 2009 FIBA U-19 and in the 2013 Stankovic Cup and World University Games, winning both gold and silver.

He was named to take over New Zealand in a two-game series in the 2013 Boomers ' FIBA Oceania Championship U-19 World Championship in Auckland, New Zealand and the Summer Universiade in Shenzhen, China in 2011.

Ryan was nominated for the 2014 FIBA World Cup in the Australian squad and was a member of the Australian men's squad at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
