Marcos Paulo Mesquita "Rony" Lopes, simply known as Rony Lopes, is a professional Brazilian-born Portuguese football player. He plays as an attacking midfielder for French Ligue 1 football club, AS Monaco FC.
He has represented Portugal in their youth teams and made his senior international debut for Portugal in 2017.
Rony Lopes is of Brazilian nationality. He was born on 28 December 1995, in Belem, Brazil. His father is a Brazilian and mother was an Angolan-born but had Portuguese nationality.
He started his junior career with AD Poiares and later went on to play for the youth teams of top European clubs such as Benfica and Manchester City.
