Ronald Washington is an American former professional baseball shortstop who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the teams like Los Angeles Dodgers, Minnesota Twins, Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Indians, and Houston Astros. As of 2019, he serves as a coach of Atlanta Braves in the Major League Baseball (MLB).
A former infielder, coach, and manager, Ron was born on April 29, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He made his MLB debut with Dodgers in 1977 and retired from his playing career in 1989. He also worked with Texas Rangers as their manager for 6 years until 2014 and then got into coaching.
Ron, a former MLB player and manager, has earned a good amount of fortune and fame through his MLB career. With the earnings through MLB, he has made a fortune of $7 million.

Ron Washington is married to Gerry Washington for around 5 decades. Ron and his wife Gerry, also known as Vanessa, tied the knot in 1972. The couple knew each other since college days and were in a relationship for four years before tying in a knot.

“I found peace with myself,” he said. “I found peace with my family, peace with my wife. I even found peace with the Lord again. Sometimes you’re going down a road and you don’t even realize what you’re doing until you’re already down it. I found out I’m human and I had weaknesses.”
Rob and Vanessa are the parents of three children, they have one son whose name is Ron Wsahinton Jr. and two daughters, Emily and Robert Washinton.
His Son Ron Washinton Jr. is a baseball player who plays in minor league with Pittsburgh. He has cleared his high school and is initiating his career towards the major league.

Ron seemed to be unstable during 2014 and his instability became public when he was accused of sexual assault. His performance and devotion for the teams seemed to fade at that time and due to his emotional instability, his teams suffer at the ground.
Later on, due to legal issues from alleged sexual assault, he took a leave from the club for several months, and due to this incident, his case was broke in front of the public.
In the same year, he resigned from the club and in one of the press conferences, he said:
"I'm sorry for breaking the trust I had with my wife and for disappointing, my players, disappointing my coaches, disappointing Major League Baseball, disappointing the Texas Rangers."
"All I ask is for your forgiveness and your understanding."
It was the 45 minutes of a speech given by Ron at that time where he did not answer the questions of the press.
"I don't run when I make a mistake. When you put yourself in situations, you own it. Those are the types of things my wife always says to me. I was not true to my wife. After 42 years, I broke that trust. I'm here to own that mistake and to apologize to her and to those who have trusted in me. I let them down."
Washington added.
In 2010, Rob admitted to testing positive for cocaine before the All-Star break in July 2009. He offered to resign as a manager, but he remained in the position and was not subject to any discipline by Major League Baseball, which administered the test, or by the Rangers.
