Van Persie has represented his national side Netherlands in both junior and senior levels in several tournaments. He made his senior international debut on 4 June 2005, in the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Romania. He has played in three editions of the FIFA World Cup, and sadly he won't be appearing in this world cup along with Arjen Robben as his team failed to qualify.
