The year 2019 hasn't been good for the former two-time UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw.

Just some months after his awful KO loss to Henry Cejudo at UFC Fight Night 143, Dillashaw was found using performance-enhancing drugs and was handed one-year suspension by the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC).

The further details about his failed drug test haven't been revealed, the former Team Alpha Male fighter announced that he has given up his Bantamweight title.

Professional MMA fighters took the news as a shocking one and made a quick reaction to the news on social media.

Check it out.

Cody Garbrandt, Dillashaw's ex-teammate, and a bitter rival currently, earlier accused him of using drugs at the UFC 217 pre-fight press conference in 2017.

“Oh yea, the guys on everything. He’s on everything. You’re the one that showed everyone how to do it on Team Alpha Male. Look at him, he has nothing to say.”

Garbrandt said.

While NYSAC has already announced its punishment, it is not yet known, if the punishment United States Anti-Doping Agency will be the same. NYSAC’s suspension is retroactive to the date of his last fight, January 19, which means he’ll be allowed to fight again on that date in 2020.
