Peter Mattias Foppa Forsberg, better known by his nickname Peter Forsberg, is a former Swedish ice hockey player. He was Modo Hockey's assistant general manager and ranks fourth all-time in career assists per game, behind only Bobby Orr, Wayne Gretzky, and Mario Lemieux.

Peter Forsberg holds a Swedish nationality.  He was born on July 20, 1973, in Ornskoldsvik, Sweden. His childhood idol was NHL legend, Hakan Loob who he idolized while growing up. His father Kent Fosberg is the former ice hockey head coach of the Swedish National Team. His mother's name is Gudrun Fosberg.He started his junior playing career with the junior team of Modo Hockey in 1990 where his father later started coaching in 1992.

In 1991, the Philadelphia Flyers selected Peter Forsberg as the sixth overall selection in the NHL Draft. He was part of a trade that sent five other players and two draft picks to the Quebec Nordiques in exchange for Eric Lindros costing the team $ 15 million.

He received the Swedish player of the year award in 1993 after many seasons with Modo. In the summer of 1994, he signed with the Quebec Nordiques before joining the Colorado Avalanche. He was a member of two Stanley Cup-winning Avalanche teams and later played with the Philadelphia Flyers and Nashville Predators.

He was a professional ice hockey player who announced his retirement in 2011. He appeared in 708 regular-season games, scoring 885 points (249 goals) and providing 636 assists. He competed in five World Championships, winning gold with the Swedish team in 1992 and 1998.

Peter Forsberg’s Wife and Children

In terms of his personal life, he married Nicole Nordin in 2010 after they were engaged in Paris. They met the same year through a mutual acquaintance.

The couple has three children: a son named Lennox who was born in June 2012, a daughter named Lily who was born in September 2014, and a third child born in May 2016. Lennox, his eldest sibling, has followed in his footsteps.
