Carcaterra, a four-year letter winner in the men's lacrosse as a midfielder, helped guide the Orange to the national title in 1995 and was named an All- American in 1997.

In 1998 Paul was also a member of the former Major League Lacrosse Team, New Jersey Pride, and represented Team England at the World Lacrosse Games.
