Mohamed Naser Elsayed Elneny better known as Mohamed Elneny is a professional football player who plays as a midfielder for Egyptian National Team and English Premier League giants Arsenal FC.

Apart from playing for Arsenal, he also has played for Egyptian football club, El Mokawloon SC and Swiss club, FC Basel.

After playing for the junior team of EI Mokawloon, he joined the main team to embark on his professional and senior playing career in 2010.

He made 35 appearances and scored 2 goals for the club.

The Egyptian midfielder was transferred to Swiss football club, FC Basel as a part of a loan deal in 2013. He signed a permanent four-year contract with the Swiss club in 2013 and scored his first goal for Basel against Zurich on 16 April 2014.

Elney was the part of the successful Swiss team that went on to win Swiss Superleague for four consecutive seasons from  2012 to 2016.

His success at Basel caught the attention of top English European football club Arsenal FC. It was confirmed by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger in 2016 the official signing of Elney. The transfer fee amount was estimated to be between £ 5 to 7.4 million.

He made his Premier League debut for Arsenal against Burnley during an FA Cup match on 30 January 2016 and scored his first Arsenal goal against FC Barcelona during Champions League match in 2016.

After helping the Egyptian U 23 and qualifying for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, he made his senior international debut for Eygpt in 2011 and scored his first international goal for Eygpt against Jamaica in a friendly match on 4 June 2014.
