Michal Neuvirth Professional Career

In the second round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, he was selected 34th overall by the Washington Capitals. He made his NHL debut against the Tampa Bay Lightning on February 14, 2009. Making 31 saves, including a breakaway glove save on Vincent Lecavalier.

He was injured in 2010, allowing third goaltender Braden Holtby to start Game 1 against the Boston Bruins in the first round. New Capitals head coach Adam Oates then confirmed Holtby as the Washington Capitals' new starting goaltender during the training camp but failed to exclude Neuvirth from reclaiming the role of the starters if he were to outplay Holtby.

On 5 March 2014, in exchange for Jaroslav Halák and a third-round pick, the Capitals traded Neuvirth along with Rostislav Klesla to the Buffalo Sabres. 

Almost a year later, on 2 March 2015, the Sabres traded Neuvirth to the New York Islanders in exchange for Chad Johnson and a third-round draft pick.

Neuvirth signed a two-year contract with the Philadelphia Flyers as a free agent on 1 July 2015 to serve as a backup for Steve Mason.
