Michael Strahan was born on November 21, 1971, in Houston, Texas. His full name is Michael Anthony Strahan and his parents are Gene Willie Strahan and Louise Strahan. He attended Westbury High School in Huston, Texas.
Michael Strahan made his professional debut in NFL in 1993 after he was drafted by New York Giants in NFL 1993 draft. He started in only nine games in his first season due to his injury and couldn't perform well. After a struggling career for one season, he had a breakout season in 1997, recording 14 sacks. He was voted into his first Pro Bowl and was also named First Team All-Pro by the Associated Press. In 1998, Strahan continued his success, racking up 15 sacks and being voted into his second Pro-Bowl and All-Pro team.
He was named the 2001 NFL Defensive Player of the Year and was a two-time NFC Defensive Player of the Year in 2001 and 2003. Strahan was injured with a torn pectoral muscle, which limited him to only 4 sacks. He came back in 2005, returning to the Pro Bowl, with his combined 26 sacks while anchoring the Giants' defense.

On June 9, 2008, Strahan retired from the NFL. He told Jay Glazer of Foxsports.com "It's time, I'm done." it was announced that Strahan would be joining the Fox NFL Sunday pregame show, alongside Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, and Jimmy Johnson On June 24, 2008. He starred in VIP Like Me and an award winning a web series for Snickers and commercial series for Vaseline Men.
Strahan co-hosted Live! with Regis and Kelly with Kelly Ripa for the first time when Regis Philbin was absent for that show On October 1, 2010. Having over 20 guest appearances over two years, Strahan was selected as Kelly Ripa's new co-host on September 4, 2012, marking his first official day on the rechristened syndicated talk show, Live! with Kelly and Michael.

Michael Strahan was married to his first wife, Wanda Hutchins in Germany in 1992 and was divorced in 1996. They met each other in 1990 while Strahan went to Germany for a football match. The couple has a daughter, Tanita Strahan, and son, Michael Anthony Strahan, Jr.
Strahan then met Jean Muggliin a spa in Manhattan in 1998 and married the next year on July 18. They have twin daughters, Sophia and Isabella Strahan born in 2004. The couple got divorced in 2006. He paid around $15 million for divorce settlement and $18000 per month for child support.
