Megan Rapinoe- Not Visiting White House after World Cup Glory Soccer

On Sunday ahead of their World Cup final game against the Netherlands, the US forward Megan Rapinoe said that she would not visit White House and Donald Trump it the team wins the title. The US team co-captain also confirmed that “not many, if any” of her teammates would either visit.

“I haven’t spoken to everyone about it, obviously not myself, not Ali Krieger, and I suspect not many, if any, of the other players [would attend the visit].”

Rapinoe, 33, told reporters on Saturday, according to Agence France-Presse.

Megan, in a video, revealed that she h?s no intention of going to the White House if the USWNT won the title after Trump criticized her for not singing the national anthem. In a video on Twitter, that went viral, R?pinoe told Eight By Eight m?g?zine:

“I’m not going to the f—ing White House. No, I’m not going to the White House. We’re not going to be invited. I doubt it.”

Though the President announced that he would invite the team if they even lose the final, the other US star Ali Krieger supported her teammate and joined the protest.

“In reg?rds to the ‘President’s’ tweet tod?y, I know women who you c?nnot control or grope ?nger you, but I st?nd by @mPinoe &?mp; will sit this one out ?s well.” (Over ? dozen women h?ve ?ccused the president of misconduct or ?ss?ult.)

Krieger, 34, wrote on Twitter.

This is not the first time a player or team has declined to visit the White House. Earlier, in 2018, NBA stars like Stephen Curry and LeBron James also refused to visit the president if their team win the championship.
