Mats Hummels was born on 16th of December 1988, in Bergisch Gladbach, West Germany, as Mats Jullian Hummels. He is the son of professional footballer and manager, Hermann Hummels who worked as a youth coordinator at Bayer Munich and Ulla Holthoff. He raised alongside his brother, Jonas who is a former footballer.
