Masoud Shojaei is a professional football player who plays as an attacking midfielder but can switch to the winger and forward if needed. He is an Iranian international player and currently playing for Persian Gulf Pro League side Tractor Sazi F.C.

Masoud Shojaei’s Bio and Early Life

Masoud Shojaei was to born to Iranian parent, Mohammad Reza Shojaei, and mother on 9 June 1984 in Shiraz, Iran. He also has a sister and holds Iranian nationality.

He started his early career playing for junior teams of local Iranian football clubs, Sanat Naft, and Saipa FC.

Masoud Shojaei’s Career

After beginning his professional playing career at Sanat Naft during 2002/03 season, he moved to fellow Iranian club, Saipa. He then joined UAE football club, Al Sharjah SC in 2006 and scored his first goal for the team against Emirates Club on October 3.

He later signed a three-year contract with the Spanish club, CA Osasuna in the summer of 2008 and was sold to the Spanish side by Al Sharjah SC for $ 7.39 million that later on went to reduced to $ 4.31million during his end of the stay.

Shojaei made his debut for Osasuna against Villarreal CF on August 31, 2008. He moved and signed a one-year contract deal with UD Las Palamas in September 2013. He made his debut as well scoring his first goal for the side in the same against CE Sabadell FC.

He signed with the Qatari football club, Al Shahania Sports Club and a scored a memorable hattrick against Al Sadd SC on December 14, 2014.

After his stint with Al Shahania Sports Club, he joined Al Gharafa Sports Club for $ 1 million in 2015.

During July 2016, he signed with Greek football team, Panionios FC for a year-long deal and is currently playing for AEK Athens who he signed a six-month contract with the club in 2017. He made his debut against Panetolikos F.C. on January 6, 2018.

He scored his first club goal for AEK against AEL Football Club on March 1, 2018.

Furthermore, Shojaei joined Tractor Sazi F.C. on a three-year contract, on 2 August 2018.

Masoud Shojaei’s International Career

After playing for Iran in U 23 sides he made his debut for senior Iranian side in 2004 after being called up for 2006 FIFA World Cup Qualifier.

Masoud Shojaei scored his first international goal for senior Iran national team against Saudi Arabia during 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualification on 28 March 2009.

He has played alongside Iranian legends and greats like  Ali Daei and players such as Alireza Haghighi and Ehsan Hajsafi in the FIFA World Cup tournaments for Iran.
