Marty Hurney is one of the respected names in the history of National Football League (NFL).He is recently serving as the interim General Manager for Carolina Panthers of NFL. He was also the owner of ESPN radio station.
Having previously worked as a journalist, Hurney stepped in NFL in 1998. He was fired from the post of General Manager of Panthers in 2012 but recently made the headline being again named as the General Manager of the club. He might have made a deal with the huge salary. All details below.
Marty Hurney is now officially declared to be the interim general manager of the Carolina Panthers of NFL. Hurney had previously worked as Carolina's general manager from 2002 until he was fired during the 2012 season after the disappointing performance. However, he started working for Panthers in 1998.

Recently in 2017, Panthers fired their GM Dave Gettleman on Monday after four years of tenure and decided to appoint Hurney as the new GM. Talking about the appointment, owner/founder Jerry Richardson said:
“Marty is the perfect person to help us in the interim. He worked with us for 15 years and understands the culture we have here. He had a lot to do with the core of our team being in place. I’m thankful that he is willing to help us in this transition period.”
Speaking at the press conference, Hurney said:
“I never lost the connection with the organization. I’ve gained a lot of perspectives and have looked at things in different ways. I think I can help this team in a lot of areas. I think I’ve grown. And I feel I’m better prepared to come in this time and do a better job than I did over the 12 years I was general manager last time."
It seems he is back with more determination and confidence but his future will be decided by the performance of his team this season as he is an interim appointment.
