Marcus Foligno Professional Career

On May 25, 2011, Foligno agreed to a professional entry-level contract with the Buffalo Sabres. On December 20, he made his NHL debut playing against the Ottawa Senators, with which his brother Nick Foligno was playing at the time. The Sabres made a qualifying offer to Foligno on June 27, 2016. Later, he was signed on July 14, 2016, to a one-year contract.

As a restricted free agent, on June 30, 2017, Foligno was traded to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Marco Scandella, Jason Pominville and a fourth-round pick in 2018 (along with Tyler Ennis and a third-round pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft).

Marcus Foligno Bio and Early life

Marcus Foligno was born on August 10, 1991, in Buffalo, New York, the U.S. to parents Mike Foligno and Janis Foligno. As per his nationality, he is American and belongs to the white ethnic group. Further, his star sign is Leo. He grew up along with his siblings, Nick, Lisa, and Cara.

In the second round, 39th overall, Foligno was selected by the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in the 2007 OHL Priority Selection, the same team drafted his older brother, Nick. Following two seasons with the club, Foligno was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft in the fourth round, 104th overall.

Foligno spent an additional two seasons with the Wolves, with his best coming during the 2010–11 season, in which he recorded 23 goals and 59 points. As a young man, Foligno played with a minor ice hockey team from Hershey, Pennsylvania, in the 2003 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament.
