Lucas Vazquez Iglesias known by his name Lucas Vazquez is a Spanish football player who plays as a right winger for Spain National Team and Spanish La Liga club, Real Madrid. Besides playing for Real Madrid, he has also played for the fellow Spanish football club, Espanyol.

He made his full international debut in 2016 for Spain and represented Spain at Euro 2016. Vazquez was an important member of the team that won Champions League 2018.

Lucas Vazquez’s Early Career

Lucas Vazquez was born on 1 July 1991 in Curtis, Spain to father Tino Vazquez and mother, Carmen Vazquez. He also has a brother named Mateo Vazquez with whom he used to play football in childhood.

His all family members were the supporter of Real Madrid and so was he, in his childhood.

He joined the youth clubs of Spanish teams such as C.C.D. Curtis and played as a striker. He soon got fame and was signed by Ural Club de Fútbol in A Coruña. He established as one of the star young players in the team scoring 50 goals in the first season.

Lucas Vazquez’s Career

After for the junior team of Real Madrid, he made his debut for senior team with the C team in 2010/11  season.

He later went on to make debut for Marid in their second level on 17 August 2012 against Villarreal CF and scored his first professional goal against UD Las  Palmas on 15 October 2012.

Lucas was the part of the Real Madrid Castilla that won the Segunda Division B in 2011/12 season.

He was later loaned to RCD Espanyol for 2014 long season deal and made his debut against Sevilla FC on August 2014.

Lucas scored his first goal for the club against Real Sociedad on 5 October 2014.

He later returned back to Real Madrid in 2015 and made his main team debut against Espanyol on 12 September 2015. He scored his first League goal for Real against Real Sociedad after coming on as a substitute for Karim Benzema.

He was also the member of the team that won three consecutive UCL in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Recently in February 2019, after Gareth Bale scored the team's winning goal against Levante in the 2-1 win in La Liga, Bale refused to celebrate with Lucas Vazquez. later Bale revealed he doesn't have a problem with Vazquez.

Lucas Vazquez’s  International Career

He did not play for Spain in their youth teams but made his senior international debut for Spain against Georgia in a friendly in 2016.

Lucas represented Spain at the UEFA Euro 2016 and is included in the 23 men Spanish squad led by captain Sergio Ramos for Spain at the 2018 FIFA World Cup at Russia. 

As of 2018, he has made six appearances and has yet to score an international goal for Spain.
