Li Leilei is a former Chinese football goalkeeper who currently works as a goalkeeping coach for Beijing Guoan. He has played for clubs like Bayi Youth, Shenzhen Jianlibao, Shandong Luneng. For a couple of years, he played for national team.
Li Leilei was born on June 30, 1997, in Beijing, China. His father, Li Songhai was also a football goalkeeper. Reviewing his nationality, Leilei is Chinese and belongs to Han ethnicity.
In 1989, Li Leilei began his football career by joining youth academy of Bayi Youth. And then, he was promoted to a senior team in 1999. He gave his seventh appearance for the club until 2003 and left the club.
Then after, Li Leilei signed a new contract with a professional Chinese football club, Shenzhen F.C. and became a regular starter. His debut for the team was extremely successful as he won the 2004 Chinese Super League in his first spell. Later, he left the club after a year, making 35 appearances.
Li Leilei was then transferred to Shandong Luneng with the transfer fee of 5 million Yuan in 2006. In the club, he established himself the first starter and appeared in over 100 games until 2012.
In 2005, Li Leilei made his international debut through his national team against the Republic of Ireland. He played 23 matches for his national side in his short international career.
Since December 2012, Li Leilei serves as the goalkeeping coach of his hometown club, Beijing Guoan.
