Laurent Koscielny was born on 10 September 1985, in Tulle, France. His father, Bernard Koscielny, is a professional club manager. He began playing football at the age of 11 joining the youth team of Tulle Corrèze.
Laurent Koscielny began his professional football career in 2004, joining the French professional club Guingamp. He was in the club for three seasons appearing in 41 games, without scoring a goal.
