Kenneth Omeruo is a professional Nigerian footballer who currently plays for the National team of Nigeria and Premier League side Chelsea as a right-back and also as a center back. The 25-year-old footballer has played for clubs that include ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough, Kasimpasa, and Alanyaspor, etc. On January 8, 2012, he signed a contract with Chelsea.

Kenneth Omeruo is the professional name of Kenneth Josiah Omeruo. He was born on October 17, 1993, in Abia State, Nigeria.  He revealed that his father is a good supporter to achieve his passion as a footballer.

Omeruo was born to his mother, Mrs. Justina Omeruo and grew up with his sibling, Odogwu, and  Lucky Omeruo, a footballer who plays for Pembroke Athleta F.C.

Reviewing his nationality, Omeruo is Nigerian and belongs to black ethnicity. He often posts pictures of his parents on Instagram.

Kenneth Omeruo’s Career

Following his youth career, Kenneth Omeruo has played for Hard Foundation and Standard Liege. He has played for the Standard U-19 team until 2012.

Chelsea

On January 8, 2012, Omeruo was transferred to Chelsea and immediately loaned to ADO Den Haag for the 2012-13 season. Omeruo made his debut for the club against SC Heerenveen and scored his first goal over FC Groningen on 19, April 2012.

During his loan career, Omeruo received one red card. He scored 2 goals in 36 appearances.

On January 7, 2014, Omeruo would soon be on loan to Middlesbrough where he made 33 league appearances as the club finished the 2013-2014 season.

On July 22, 2015, Omeruo sent on loan to Kasimpasa for the 2014-2015 season with an option purchase the player at the end of the spell.

Omeruo's first match came to against Gaziantepspor in August 2015 with a victory 3-0. For the club, he has played in 25 matches until June 2016.

On August 31, 2016, Omeruo was transferred to Alanyaspor on a season-long deal and got 44 number T-shirt and made his debut against Genclerbirligi. For the team, he scored his first goal over Adanaspor in a victory of 4-1.

In August 2017, Omeruo extended his contract with the Chelsea for next three-year. He was then loaned to Kasimpasa on August 25, 2017, until June 30, 2018. He scored 1 goal in 28 appearances for the club. Omeruo is the agent of Relatives.

On 15 August 2018, Omeruo signed to CD Leganés, agreeing on a season-long loan deal. As of now, he is playing side, Chelsea.

Kenneth Omeruo's International Career

In 2009, Kenneth Omeruo earned his first international cap with the Nigeria U-17 team, where he scored 1 goal in 7 appearances.

Omeruo then played 5 matches for U-20 team of Nigeria with whom he reached the quarter-finals at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Colombia.

On January 9, 2013, Omeruo made his debut with the senior team under the coach, Stephen Keshi against Cape Verde. Omeruo is the member of the National team that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

Throughout his international career, Omeruo has represented his national team at 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup Cup, 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, and 2014 FIFA World Cup.
