Kanischka Taher is an Afghan professional football player. He currently plays for Kapellen-Erft and the Afghanistan national football team as a midfielder.

Early Career

A native of Kabul, Afghanistan, Kanischka Taher was born on 4th of April 1991. Regarding nationality, the player is Afghan.

Club Career

In 2010, Taher began his football career professionally with the football club Kaarst. He played for the club till 2012, appearing in 50 leagues and scored 16 goals. He then switched to Uedesheim where he made 33 appearances and scored 2 goals.

Correspondingly in 2013, he signed a two-year contract to Alemannia Aachen II. Following his expiration of the contract with the club, he joined Kapellen-Erft.

National Career

In 2014, Taher played for the Afghanistan U-23 national team side in the “2014 Asian games”. The following year he was included in the Afghanistan national team. On 8th September 2015, he made his international debut against Japan for his national team, where he came as a 22th-minute substitute as Afghanistan lost 6-0.

His first international goal came on 31st December, in “SAFF Championship” in opposition to Sri Lanka. His 20th-minute goal helped his national team victory 5-0 and led to final in opponent to India.
