Jose Canseco Capas Jr. or famously known as Jose Canseco is a Cuban former baseball player who played as an outfielder and hitter for several teams of Major League Baseball. The 6-time All-Star started his professional career with Oakland Athletics in 1985 and played for several other MLB clubs.

Canseco's father encouraged to play baseball and personally taught them and later played baseball at Coral High School in Miami. After graduation, he was drafted by Oakland Athletics where he was picked 15th overall in their amateur team.

He later created history by becoming the first player in Baseball history at the Major League to score at least 4o home run and 40 Stolen bases in a season which is in 1988.

With this performances, he earned the American League MVP award and played a crucial role in the World Series win over San  Franciso Giants.

Following the success, he achieved with Oakland Athletics, he was traded to Texas Rangers and later played for Major Soccer League teams such as Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays as well as Chicago White Fox.

He retired in May 2002  with 462 home runs as well as six All-star selections over the course of his remarkable playing career.
