John Allan tested positive for PEDs after his UFC debut win Other

John Allen, who registered his UFC debut win over Mike Rodriguez at UFC Sacramento on July 13 has been tested positive for an undisclosed banned substance as claimed by multiple sources. The Chute Boxe talent defeated Mike via unanimous decision.

He was signed as a replacement for Gian Villante in the 205 bout on short notice in California.

Allen was also a competitor at Dana White’s Contender Series in Aug. 2018 where he was defeated by Vinicius Moreira by submission. He then appeared at Future MMA 6 where he defeated Alexandre Silva that earned him a deal with the UFC.

Meanwhile, Allen is not the only Brazilian to have been tested positive for the use of the banned substance. The former One Championship fighter Istela Nunes, who was scheduled to fight Angela Hill on September 21, 2019, at UFC on ESPN+ 17, was removed from the card after she failed the drug test. It’s still unclear what Nunes tested positive for.

UFC is searching a new opponent for Hill.

Other Brazilian fighters like Melissa Gatto, Bruno Silva, and Giacomo Lemos were also found using the illegal substance in the last 2 months.
