Mahal was born on July 19, 1986, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Yuvraj Singh Dhesi to the parents whose names aren't disclosed yet. Further, he holds the nationality of Canada and his ethnicity is mixed. Also, his zodiac is Cancer. Additionally, he has two brothers namely Gurv and Harv.

Born into a family of wrestlers, it is not surprising that he has decided from a young age tow the same path. Dhesi trained under the tutelage of Ric Bognar, Allen Coage, and Gery Morrow at the Martial Arts Fitness Center in his home town of Calgary. Also, he graduated in Business Management in culture and communications from the University of Calgary.

Jinder Mahal Professional Life and Career

Dhesi traveled to Tampa, Florida to try the developmental promotion of the Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Dhesi believed at the trial that his Punjabi gimmick and promos made him stand out, saying that he "was wearing a turban and had [ his ] full outfit on" and that "they like guys who speak different languages and look different."

On the April 29, 2011 episode of SmackDown, Mahal made his televised WWE debut, greeting fellow Indian wrestler The Great Khali and his manager Ranjin Singh by speaking in Punjabi that he was really happy and excited to see Khali and Ranjin. Mahal targeted wrestlers in November, whom he deemed to be under him or embarrassing, and began a feud with Ted DiBiase in November.

 

 

In their summer iPPV, ROW Summer of Champions 2014, Dhesi wrestled for Reality of Wrestling (ROW) under the name Raj Singh, defeating Jasper Davis. Mahal re-signed with the WWE on July 27th. Mahal returned to television alongside Heath Slater on Raw's August 1 episode, demanding contracts until Raw General Manager Mick Foley informed the couple that they had to face each other in a Raw contract match won by Mahal.

On Raw's May 7, 2018, episode, after defeating Chad Gable, Mahal was denied entry by Kurt Angle into the triple threat Money in the Bank qualifying match, leading to Mahal interfering and costing the match later that night for Roman Reigns.
