Jermaine Gresham was born on June 16, 1988, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He is the son of Jerry Williamson and Walletta Gresham. He attended the Ardmore High School where he played for the school's football clubs as well as the basketball team.

He saw limited time in his first season with the Cardinals and recorded 18 receptions for 223 yards and one touchdown. He stayed with the Cardinals all through the 2016 season despite being offered four-years by New York Jets and Chicago Bears.
