Jeremy Dean Stephens or famously known as Jeremy Stephens is a professional American Mixed Martial Artist who fights for the renowned American MMA promotion, Ultimate Fighting Championships under the Featherweight division. A professional fighter since 2006, he is currently ranked #6 in the official UFC featherweight rankings.

Stephen married his longtime girlfriend, Cindy Lopez on 23 rd September 2017 after proposing to her on 8th July 2016. The wedding ceremony was held in California.

Jeremy Stephens defeated Gilbert and got married to his fiancee after two weeks in California. After his win, he talked to MMAjunkie and said:

“I have a great fiancee. Not only is she beautiful, she has an amazing heart. She understands this is what I do, and this what I love. These opportunities aren’t going to be knocking 15 years from now.”

Jeremy Stephens’ Bio and Early Life

Jeremy Stephens was born on May 26, 1986, in Des Moines, Iowa. He came from a broken family as both his father and mother separated when he was a small child. He initially stayed with his mother before, his father won win through custody.

He is American by nationality having American Mexican descent through his mother.

Jeremy did his schooling from Norwalk High School and was an excellent athlete in baseball and wrestling in the school.

He was introduced to MMA by his grandfather and become friends with Josh Neer while starting out his career as an MMA fighter.

Jeremy Stephens’ Professional Career

He started his MMA career as an amateur at 16 and later on took full-time training at 18. During this time, he won the UGC and MCC Lightweight Championship.

Jeremy started his UFC career in 2007 and made his debut against Din Thomas at UFC event, UFC 71 on May 26, 2007. He lost the bout via submission in the second round and got his first win against Diego Saraiva through a unanimous decision at UFC 76.

Jeremy made his featherweight debut against Estevan Payan at UFC 160 and lost via unanimous decision...

He then faced Dennis Bermudez at UFC 189 and won the fight via TKO in the second round.

Jeremy, later on, took on Renan Barao at UFC Fight Night 88 on May 29,2016, and won via unanimous decision. Their match was awarded Fight of the Night for their performance.

He, later on, fought against the competitors such as Gilbert Melendez and Doo Ho Choi that were awarded the Fight of the Night honors.

Jeremy fought against Josh Emmett at UFC on Fox 28 and won the fight via knockout as well as earned him the Performance of the Night bonus award on  February 24, 2018.

He was defeated by Jose Aldo on July 28 at the Fox 30. He later faced Zabit Magomedsharipov at UFC 235 on March 3 and was defeated via decision.
