Jeremy was born to the late Dick Schaap and Trish Schapp. His father was an American sportswriter, broadcaster, and author. Rosie, Kari, and David Schaap are his siblings.

From his early age, he followed the footsteps of his father. Upon high school graduation, Jeremy attended Cornell University. At Cornell, he worked as the editor of The Cornell Daily Sun. Moreover, he was also the part of the Quill and Dagger Society.

Likewise his father Dick Schaap, Jeremy is an accomplished media personality. He is a regular contributor to Nightline and ABC World News Tonight.  In addition, his writing works have appeared in Sports Illustrated, ESPN The Magazine, Time, Parade, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times. In 2015, Schaap won the Robert F. Kennedy Award for Reporting on human rights and social justice issues, a first for ESPN. Two national Edward R. Murrow Awards, two National Headliner Awards, also honored Jeremy. Additionally, he won eleven national Sports Emmy Awards.

Jeremy Schaap married his girlfriend after having an affair for some time. Currently, the lovely couple is living happily as a husband and a wife. Jeremy has three children from his wife, two girls, and a boy. J

eremy Schaap was very close to his father. His father died on December 21, 2001, at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He died due to the complications arises from hip replacement surgery.

As of now, Jeremy has published several books. His books include Triumph: Jesse Owens and Hitler’s Olympics, Triumph: The Untold Story of Jesse Owens, and Cinderella Man. Schaap is the philanthropist. He is dedicated towards the charitable works. He has a longstanding relationship with ALS Association. Moreover, he also associates with Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. The organization dedicated to finding cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
