UFC 253 will headline a match between Israel Adesanya vs. Paulo Costa on September 19. The Brazilian MMA fighter Paulo Savage Costa and Israel Adesanya have shared bad blood since a very long time now, the title chaser after his UFC 241 victory has been openly saying that he has all the tools to destroy the last Stylebender.
As all main events, this match which will be held on 19 September 2020, should probably start probably at 10 PM ET. Betting community is already hyped up for the game despite its almost one and a half months away.
As the main card and primary cards aren't released yet, so far Odd Shark records Israel Adesanya at-165 whereas Paulo Costa is at +135. Which means Costa is a slight underdog as of August 1, 2020. Though these stats might change but we expect Costa to be an underdog. Meaning, if you bet $100 ton Costa u will end up receiving $135.
As Adasanya knows how explosive Costa is, he might use his athletic abilities and if Costa fails to take the fight to Adesanya, the fight might go to the judges' card where Israel Adesanya might come up victorious either via a splits decision or via unanimous decision in the favor of the current MW king.
But, one special thing about Paulo Costa is that he was able to disappoint a +140 favorite Yoel Romero, and win the no.1 contender's spot and bring the fight to Adesanya. However, after he had to go through a surgery, Romero fought the last Stylebender in a very hyped but an under-performed match, which shows that Costa's pace and mixed style can be a problem to Adesanya.
We have seen Adesanya knock a warrior in Robert Whittaker, but we also saw him run away from Romero, whereas Reaper Whittaker has beaten Romero twice. Likewise, Paulo Costa's win over Romero was equally impressive. As the champion doesn't like to get hit whereas Costa is an absolute brawler, we ware sure to get a blood bath. So, we believe, Costa's game plan should be to get hit less, and hit Adasanya more. If we take Romero as a reference point, Costa has a fair chance to win the strap.
As a power puncher, Costa does have a healthy winning chance but Costa as a bigger muscular fighter would be slower than the champ. So, if you want to bet small and win 30% more, then you should bet on Paulo Costa.
