Is there a split between Conor McGregor and his longtime coach John Kavanagh? Has Conor McGregor left Straight Blast Gym (SBG) following his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov? Artem Lobov Denies MMA

Conor McGregor is mostly seen on the streets of the United States promoting his Proper Twelve whiskey. But while he's not into his business he was often spotted training at American Top Team in Atlanta.

Several speculations were made about the Irishman that he had parted ways with Dublin based Straight Blast Gym (SBG) and his close friend and coach John Kavanagh. However, his close friend and training partner Artem Lobov denied the rumors and explained otherwise.

In an interview with host Jason Kindschy on the latest episode of BJPENN.COM Radio, Lobov said.

“No, Conor is still with us, we are all still a part of SBG. The thing is that many of the SBG fighters that have kind of retired now or whatever, they have opened their own SBG gyms. So we all will often train not only at the main SBG but other SBG gyms. For example, Peter Queally opened SBG Naas and that’s a great facility, so Conor and many of us would often train there. There’s SBG D24 with Paddy Holohan; we’ve got many SBGs now so as a result, it may seem sometimes that we’re not all there at SBG HQ, but we still are all a part of SBG.”

Lobov seems to be right as Conor spent good days in SBG before he traveled to the US. So, his current stay in the US is believed to be the promotion of his whiskey business rather than a desire to switch gyms.

Lobov recently ended his contract with UFC has agreed to fight at BKFC 5 on April 6 against UFC veteran Jason Knight.
