Henry Cejudo Eyes Featherweight Belt to be the UFC's First triple-division Champ MMA

Henry Cejudo has already won the title in two division and is the UFC's fourth champ-champ. However, he still has the desire to fight for the third title but under one condition.

The current flyweight and now bantamweight champion recently expressed his thoughts to compete for the featherweight title but if only Frankie Edgar wins the bout against the champion Max Holloway at UFC 240 on July 27, 2019.

Talking on The Ariel Helwani MMA Show, Cejudo said:

“The fight I would really want, and this has everything to do with the competition; if Frankie Edgar wins this fight against Max Holloway that’s the fight I am interested in.

But this doesn't mean he is afraid of Blessed or has any personal animosity with Edgar, it is because he will have no height disadvantage as Edgar is one of the shortest fighters in UFC.

“We had talked about it before, captain Eric mentioned it. I like his stature, I think the height seems very well, he is a wrestler. I think if he wins the fight against Max Holloway, then me and him can throw down."

“It’s nothing against Frankie, I just want to compete against the best," Cejudo continued. "I know he took offense when I called him out with Marlon Moraes, I know he didn’t believe in me...but why not? Why can’t I win another belt. They have been telling me I can’t. They told me I was going to get knocked out by Marlon, they told me I’d get stopped by Demetrious Johnson, T.J. Dillashaw.”

Cejudo added.

If Edger wins the fight and Cejudo defeats Edgar then he will be the first fighter to hold the three titles making his one of the best in MMA. While winning the third belt would be great for his legacy, Cejudo has also made it very clear that he's seeking to get paid. Cejudo's brash talk may not be popular among fans of the sport, but you can bet they'll tune in to see him fight for a third belt.
