On 1 July 2014, Thomson joined BBC Radio 5 Live’s as a presenter of Saturday Morning comedy show Fighting Talk along with Josh Widdicombe. They both left the show in August 2016.
Thompson was in a relationship with Declan Donnelly, who is an English television presenter, presenter, producer, and actor well known for Ant & Dec.

Upon splitting with Declan, she married British Sailor Sir Ben Ainslie. Prior, they dated for a year. Currently, the lovely couple is living happily with each other.
