Eric Bailly was born as Eric Bertrand Bailly on 12 April 1994, in Bingerville, Ivory Coast. He began playing football at the age of seven. He is of Ivorian nationality.
Eric Bailly began his professional football career in 2013, joining the La Liga side Espanyol B team at the age of 19. He was on the B team for a season with a total appearance of 21 games without a goal.
