Doug Flutie is a former American football player who played as a quarterback for various NFL, CFL, and USFL teams. He started his professional career with New Jersey Generals and went on to play for Chicago Bears, New England Patriots, etc.

Doug Flutie was born Douglas Richard Flutie on October 23, 1968, in Manchester, Maryland, United States. He was born to American parents, Joan Flutie and Richard Flutie. He also has two siblings named Darren Flutie, Bill Flutie, and Denise Flutie.

He then played in the Canadian Football League for 8 years and is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks ever to play Canadian football. Flutie announced his decision to "hang up his helmet" at the age of 43 and retire on May 15, 2006.
