Winner of USA Today a Rudy Award as the Best Face in Sports Television, Doris Burke works as a sideline reporter and color analyst for NBA on ESPN and NBA on ABC Games. Burke also served as an analyst WNBA games on MSG and has worked on New York Knicks games.
Burke was born on 23 November 1965 in West Clip, New York, United States. She holds an American nationality and belongs to the white ethical background. Burke spent her childhood in Manasquan, New Jersey.
Doris completed her high school from studying at ‘Manasquan High School’. She was interested in playing basketball while studying in high school. Burke further continued to play basketball while attending Providence College. She plays for the Providence Friars women’s basketball team. At Providence, she received her degree specializing in administration/social work.
In the year 1990, Burke started his broadcasting career working as an analyst on Alma meter radio. That same year, Burke started working for ‘Big East Women’s games’’ on television. Upon six years of that, she began working on ‘Big East men’s Games’’. Doris came into the headlines and received public attention when she appointed as a lead analyst for ‘ESPN’s coverage WNBA’.
In 2000, Burke became the first woman to be a color analyst for a New York Knicks game on radio and television. Since 2009, Burke worked as the sideline reporter for the NBA Finals for ABC Sports. Burke agreed on a multiyear extension contract to works as an NBA commentator on ESPN.
Together, she and Jay Bilas called many basketball games.
In 2006, Burke was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame, and in 2007, she was honored with the Woman of Excellence Trailblazer Award from the Rhode Island Women’s Center.
Burke is currently single. However, she was previously married to Gregg Burke, a TV personality. They conducted their marriage in a private ceremony in 1989. Before getting married, they were in a live-in together relationship for some time. The couple has two children, born in 1993 and 1995 respectively. The duo separated in 2016. They are not living together now. The reason behind their separation is still unknown.
